Most people think that there is not much to see or do in places covered by deserts of the United Arab Emirates, but Dubai stands out with its amazing skyscrapers and magnificent architectures. Located on the coast of the Persian Gulf and almost at sea level, Dubai is more known for its oil industry but now it has increasingly attracted more tourists because of its luxurious hotels, modern architecture and shopping scene.

Witness a mixture of modern and Islamic architecture in Dubai’s structures and buildings including the majestic Jumeirah Mosque, the geometrical Deira Clocktower, the business hub Dubai World Trade Centre, the towering Almas Tower and twin-tower complex Emirates Park Towers and of course the tallest building in the world the Burj Khalifa or Khalifa Tower with a height of 2,716 feet and situated on an artificial island from Jumeirah Beach and has a private curving beach that connects it to the mainland. The design of the Burj Khalifa was inspired by the sail of a Dhow, which is an Arabian vessel and symbolizes the transformation of Dubai into a modern city. Fine dine at Al Muntah in Burj Khalifa for an amazing view of the Persian Gulf and the city of Dubai. You can ride the panoramic elevator while heading up to Al Muntah for a more thrilling experience. What comes up, must come down that’s why Burj Khalifa decided to offer another restaurant called the Al Mahara which features a huge seawater aquarium and can be accessed by riding a simulated submarine.

Known as the "shopping capital of Middle East", Dubai has more than 70 shopping centers including one of the world’s largest malls, the Dubai Mall which has more than 1,200 shops and other recreation areas such as the huge Dubai Aquarium and Under Water Zoo, Olympic-sized Dubai Ice Rink, the indoor theme park called Sega Republic and Reel Cinemas. There are also several souk districts in Dubai including a Gold Souk, which has more than 250 gold retail stores. If you have no time to go around shopping, then make a quick stop at the Dubai Duty Free for local and international products.
